For the film 'My Brother the Devil' it started by showing the names of the two production companies working together on the film. There was no sound and the logo was clear and quick. After the second production company was named the music increased in volume to show a picture of people on benches. It was a black and white photo of people having fun and looked like it was night time, the white text was still showing with information, again about the production companies. The music type stayed the same throughout the sequence and seemed to give a feeling of suspense and confusion, as a viewer you don't know why you are seeing these photos. The scene then changed to boys in hoodies on a bus the same type of text continued. The next shot was an undershot of a boxer punching a punch bag. It then flicked between a boy walking, children signing each others shirts, rapping and wishing each other luck and then transitioned back into a photo of boys jumping over walls, still with the credits running in the same text. The atmosphere of the pictures changed from happy memories to gang related and crime related pictures such as to one of a guy holding a sword, someone dressed in black stealing something and then returned to the boxer meeting with his brother. The costume was casual clothing, school attire, hoodies and boxing kit which showed the contrast of the characters.
As a viewer I think it was confusing and couldn't tell what was going on, I began to feel bored. it didn't make me want to watch the film.

Twilight, I didn't like the opening sequence of this film either due to the fact it was very mundane and boring. This film tried to be artistic by using a camera following the line of a hill, side and a wide shot of the deer , a shaky shot from the top to bottom of a tree. there was a running shot, a skyline shot using a drone. I think too many camera techniques were used in such a short space of time that the filming didn't flow. The colours at the very beginning were vibrant but changed to very dull using black and grey tones . I think this was to show the contrast with her life changing now she was living with her dad. This opening used a lot of stereotypes such as the mum wearing pink and the dad in chequered shirt and 'dad' shorts. When they were driving the music was 'driving music'. the name of the film came up with a skyline, shot over the trees and road they were travelling along. This was the only credit shown in this sequence and was done in a mock gothic font, personally I didn't like this effect, the background didn't match this type of writing. When she first meets her dad the conversation between them was very difficult, showing there was no real relationship. This was also shown by the colours becoming dull around her.
After analyzing these two films I realize they share similar qualities which I don't like. They were very confusing, used stereotypical characters and used grey and black tones in their title sequences to add a dramatic or evocative effects.
