task4- anysis on two films
black swan- discrete title sequence has a creepy imagery with classical music which suggest calm but sinister and dramatic events that the audience is about to face. the graceful dance and blood spilled sheets in the opening conveys the thrillers true violence that waits. The fact that the dancer is hidden behind a screen and is burry helps me as an audience member to begin to question what’s about the happen and why this is all happening. As this questions are raised in the title sequence they will be carried out throughout the duration of the program which will being more re-accruing problems to light from the start making the viewer more engaged with the programme.
but on the other hand we have step farther
the step farther- as the film starts with the narrate of the movie helps the audience question what are they in for. whilst further getting them more of the story than the black swan pitting the audience strata in to the film and brig more relevant questions to light. from the starting sounds plus the imagery didn't quite fit together which gave a threatening atmosphere to the film as the music was a sweet innocent children’s song 'silent night' with the imagery of dead bodies, blood and share weapons added to the sinister feeling over all. using a wide range of shots to make the mood more personal and intimate with the main in the title sequence made the relaxation of his horrid crime more creepy and horrific.
Both hold different types of styles of title sequences and one is more stale and the other is quite dramatic.
